Does Everyone Have a Credit Score?

Financial experts talk often about the importance of maintaining a high credit score, but does everyone have a score to begin with? In fact, the answer is no. More than 50 million Americans do not have a credit score, mostly often because they have no credit history or because their credit accounts are too new to be scored. Known as “credit invisibles,” these adults are often 18-19 year-olds who simply have not opened any credit accounts yet, though there is a segment of older adults who don’t rely on credit at all.
